George Cheeseworth Tucker, my Great-Grandfather was born in the Totnes (Devon, UK) Workhouse, on the 10th. of December 1862
His mother Maria Tucker (18... - 19..) was unmarried at the time, and I'm assuming she had returned - or been sent back - to the Totnes Workhouse to give birth as she was originally from Halwell which was in the Totnes Workhouse 'catchment area'. The illustration above is from the Parish Register. His Birth Certificate (below) gives very little more information....
